A few have asked WHY we are doing 22 push ups each warm up… We are doing 22 to bring awareness to the 22 veterans who commit suicide each day, for 22 days. It’s good for your push up muscles and a good time to think about what each of us could do to help out… ?Some get all in their heads about the numbers,  use your google-fu to find out more… “A study published in 2012 suggested that an average of 22 veterans kill themselves every day. While that conclusion is controversial — some say it’s probably lower, while others argue it’s actually much higher — everyone agrees that whatever it is, it’s too many.” Do those 22 push ups PERFECTLY and challenge others to do the same, LIVE your life to the fullest, reach out to help when you can.

Atlas PowerLifting meet was awesome this weekend. They put on an awesome show and gave away many prizes…. JJ from GNC as always is amazing giving away MANY things to those competing. I’m a little skeert to name names as I’m sure to forget someone, but here goes, Jen D, Kelly M, Becky B, DeeAnn C ( she’s running for judge this election cycle  ), Paige T, Nidia M, Don and Miki C all showed up to have some fun at another gym doing things they are not used to doing.  Watching all the athletes that attend lifting weights that I thought could only be picked up with hydraulics or MA was fun. Seeing different techniques than we’re used to  seeing was also something to behold and an interest to me. We hosted a PL meet last year and hope to do so again this fall. THANK YOU Atlas for letting us come play with you.

Tonight Impact Mt is having their Warrior Challenge early registration part at Lewis and Clark Brewery 5:30 PM…. We need to get our $$ together for those of you that want to play Saturday Aug 27. IF we pay now, well by the 31st, we each save $18 or $150 per team. it was a blast last year and will be even more fun, or funnerer this year. There were 2 teams of 8 last year, we are shooting for 3 this year.

This Thursday over at Kyle C’s new PT place there is going to be an Isagenix information and tasting meeting. IF you have ever had questions or wondered what the haps with Isagenix is, this is one smart cookie to answer all of your questions. Dr Ryan Johnson has a whole host of letters behind his name… DPT, MAT, ASCM, exercise and science professor, health and business coach. Goes from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Ascension PT, 3345 Colton Drive.

Spring Fling is this weekend and we have all sorts of great things planned, we’d love for you to come and compete,  if that isn’t in the cards for you come watch or even help out with one of the many jobs needed to make it run smoothly, Lori Keck has been putting all sorts of time and energy into this so you know it’ll be a well run event with great prizes and fun to be had by all. Don and Jason have released 2 of the WODs already. I think Mark will be on the grill.

We really need to thank the following businesses for their support in making this go better and supplying prizes for the athletes playing with us:
B and B Market
GNC
Murdochs
Tread Lightly
Base Camp
G2OH
If you are looking to spend some coin, go give them some of it.

Murph will be run on Monday. This was originally called body armor by LT Murphy when he and the boys did it. When he was killed in action making a phone call to get help for his 4 man SR team it became one of CrossFits favorite WODs to do on Memorial day… Yes this coming Monday is Memorial day, we are hoping to have flak Jackets from the MT National Guard to make it RX (prescription) for those of you who have the umph to do it with vest and in order.

1 mile run
100 Pull ups
200 Push ups
300 Squats
1 mile run
This is a LONG one so be prepared to come in and work, not a lot of time for gabbing or skills, we’ll warm you up and get it going.

Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.
