Burpee Challenge is on!
“The 100-Burpee Challenge”
Let the bodies hit the floor (or the lawn, or the sidewalk, or patio, or, well, use your imagination)!!!
Beginning THIS MONDAY, June 21st, Crossfit Helena is throwing down the “100-Burpee Challenge”, a storm that has swept through Crossfit boxes across the country! Believing that any good idea is worth repeating, we are bringing it to you with these “rules” in place:
1) THE STANDARD: Start in standing position; Drop to plank; Drop to floor (CHEST & THIGHS must make contact w/ the foor!); Rock back onto feet/jump into “crouch” position; Spring up to full hip extension, feet coming at least 4 inches off ground and hands clap overhead.
2) Challenge dates will be from Monday, June 21st to Tuesday Sept. 28th.
3) The Method: Day 1, do 1 Burpee; Day 2, do 2 Burpees…Day 99, 99 Burpees, Day 100, 100 Burpees. You get the picture!
4) Daily Rx Burpees do not have to be done in one continuos set! Total accumulation throughout a 24-hour period count toward daily total.
5) IF YOU ARE LATE TO JOIN THE CHALLENGE, no worries!! You have 1 week to “catch up”. Sign-up sheet at Crossfit Helena.
6) AFTER WEEK 1, if you miss a day, you have the next day to make up the missed reps. HOWEVER, missing 2 consecutive days will eliminate you from the contest. (i.e. You miss Day 49, so on Day 50 you do 99 Burpees. GREAT! You are still in! If you miss Day 49 & Day 50 completely, sorry! O-U-T).
7) Burpees done as part of a WOD COUNT TOWARD YOUR DAILY TOTAL! HOWEVER, Burpee reps in WOD above and beyond daily Rx cannot be “banked” (you cannot “pay forward”).
8) YOU ARE ON YOUR HONOR for your daily totals! BUT…
9) WE WANT PICTURES! And more pictures, of you doing your Burpees in unique settings, as well as the most unique reactions from onlookers! Bring hard-copies of your photos to the gym if you can, so we can make a board (or send pics to Melanie or Scott via e-mail if you can’t get a hard-copy). “Best Location” and “Best Reaction” will be voted on at the end of the challenge by super-secret ballot box (contestant must complete challenge). Winner of each will get something really cool.
10) HAVE FUN!! Be one with the Burpees. Embrace the SUCK.
